Reading on the Road

One of the nice things about taking trips is that you get to read a lot of books. At home I don't get as much time to read because I have to go to school, do my homework, eat dinner, do my chores, and all of a sudden it's time to go to bed. I have read five books on this trip, including: City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende, My Big Fat Zombie Gold Fish by Mo O'Hara ( which I read four times), Nikolas and Company number one by Kevin McGill, Nikolas and Company number two also by Kevin McGill, and The Last Super Hero by Stephen Altrogge.

I have really liked all of these books. I would recommend these books to all my friends. I have two favorite books. They are the Nikolas and Company books and the Last Super Hero.

I liked Nikolas and Company because it is about a boy whose grandpa saves him and his friends from scuccas, which are big beasts who have the head of a hyena, the neck of an ostrich, and the body of a raptor. After Grand ( the grandpa) saves them they have to go to the moon to escape from the scuccas. First they have to get on a space shuttle, but they didn't know how to fly it and Grand was knocked out by the scuccas. When Nick looked at the controls he thought they looked a lot like the controls on a video game that he played, but when he started the rocket the auto pilot took over so he didn't get to have the fun of flying it.

The last Super Hero is a good book because its about a family that has super powers. The men and boy have to save their city Coreopolis from a bad guy called boom. The family's powers are super speed (the mom) and super human strength (the dad, grandpa, and the son). The bad guy boom is also a super hero who is telekinetic and can move objects without touching them. He is the president of a school called the University of the Phoenix and nobody knows that he's the bad guy until the end.

I am going to write a book report on City Of The Beasts, which my mom read, and my dad and brother are also reading. I am looking forward to read more books, and I'd like any suggestions on any good books.

  2. Vacations and reading make good companions. During the regular work week, I always end my day cozied in bed reading. After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, one objective is to complete my current book and read a second one.
An alternative for a book report is to create a "book trailer" which is like a movie trailer except of course you are promoting a book. You use pictures (either photographs or your own drawings) that illustrate your comments then combine with an audio recording. It's fun and you're still reporting / commenting on the book.
