We are in Cusco, it's a town high up in the Andes at, over 11,000 feet high. In Cusco we've been taking really long walks around. On our walks the streets have been super skinny and the stair cases are really steep. On the steep hills, houses are built and their roofs are usually orange. Whenever you look out over the city you see an ocean of orange roofs. There are a lot of plazas and churches next to them. In the plazas there are a lot of people hanging out and talking, and some times there are couples kissing. What I think is cool about the walks around the city is that every time we take a walk it seems like we are in a new place.
Yesterday we took a walk around just for fun, but then when we were just walking we found a place where we got shish kebabs and that was our small lunch. That day, at the same place we got the shish kebabs, we found a market and got some food. Somehow they didn't have any salsa but they did have some taco sauce and weird brown salsa stuff, at least we got some food.

Today we had breakfast after 12 pm. When we were done with breakfast we did some homework and then drew a bit and had lunch at 3 and then went out for our every day excursion. On our journey we went on a new street and there was a lot of
perro (dog) poop and it was kind of hard to dodge. On that walk we also walked up a really steep hill, that was hard to climb because of the steepness and the "hard to breathe" problem because of being up so high. After we started to head down off the steep mountain, we went to get some
helado, which took a long time because the first place we saw was closed, the second was too busy+, and finally at the third we got
helado, well actually ice cream sandwiches and a Popsicle.

The rest of the day went by pretty quick. At the end of our journey we had to get our laundry and some water and bread, but when we were getting our bread this
loco guy came in and started talking weird and pointing at the sky and making a gun shape with his fingers and pointing it at his head. So when we left we went to get the laundry but found a place with water so we got some
agua and headed for the
lavanderia. When we got to the
lavanderia they said that it would take a while longer so we said we would pick it up tomorrow. But when we left the
lavanderia we saw the loco guy again and he was walking around in the middle of the street and a car started honking at him. When we got home we started doing our home study such as finishing our landscape drawings, and I started working on this blog post.

Sounds like I would enjoy all the walking you all are doing. You know how much I like to walk when we visit. Right now it is cold and windy, so we'll have to bundle up for our evening walk with Tallie and Mamie.
ReplyDeleteYour descriptions in the blog are very good such as "ocean of orange roofs" and "super skinny." I like the titles of your photos - very creative and descriptive.
